Getting Started

Dial-in Odyssey is an internet-exploration game where you traverse digital islands made from HTML pages. Here’s how to get started:

Basic Controls

• WASD – Move around
• Mouse – Look around
• Left and right mouse button - Shoot rubberbands
• Space – Jump
• Space x 2 - Launch player (Only works with 2 active rubberbands)
• Shift - Run
• E – Interact / Use objects
• 1 - Extract floppy object
• F - Drop floppy
• T - Open homeisland DOM-Terminal
• Esc – Close game

DOM-Terminal controls

• Enter - Open selected tag
• Esc - Close selected tag
• E - Add held floppy at selected position
• R - Remove selected tag
• M - Start moving a tag, confirm with enter / cancel with esc
• U - Upload the made changes, your island will rebuild
• T - Close terminal

Gameplay Tips

• Explore websites as if they were islands
• Press Y for a little start help (this will slow the game, give it time)
• Collect HTML elements to grow your own island
• Interact with link crystals to travel to new digital destinations
• Found a cool new website, add the crystal to your homeisland for easy access

Saving & Loading

Your progress is saved on your own webpage, to visit it go to "https://dial-in-odyssey.onrender.com/island/" and add your name at the end

Example: "https://dial-in-odyssey.onrender.com/island/fint"

Known Issues

• Multiplayer is still experimental, join a friend with the join code (top right of your screen)
• Some website don't allow access, no island will load (Instagram, LinkedIn for example)
• For now the server will reset if not used for a while, this will reset your home island
